Ettore Soffritti Violin, 1889

Ettore Soffritti (1877–1928) was a renowned Italian violin maker and one of the leading figures of the Emilian school. Born and based in Ferrara, he developed a distinctive style rooted in the city’s rich tradition of craftsmanship. His violins, violas, and cellos are admired for their elegant forms, meticulous workmanship, luminous golden-orange varnish, and exceptional tonal quality. Today, Soffritti is remembered as one of Ferrara’s most important and influential luthiers.
