FAQ

  • What happens during an evaluation?

We examine your instrument or bow for authenticity, condition, and market value. We’ll review its maker, origin, materials, and playing qualities. You’ll receive a written report with our findings and recommendations.

  • Is there a cost for evaluations?

Our standard evaluations are free of charge for musicians in Vienna. If you require a detailed written valuation for insurance or legal purposes, a separate fee applies.

  • What are your commission rates?

Our commission depends on the selling price and category (instrument or bow) but typically 20%. We agree on the exact rate before signing a consignment contract.

  • Can I try an instrument before buying?

Absolutely. We offer trial periods so you can play the instrument in rehearsals, concerts, or at home before making a decision.

  • Do you only sell antique instruments?

No. We also work with contemporary makers whose work meets our quality standards.

  • Do you accept consignments from outside Vienna?

Yes. Please contact us to arrange secure shipping or in-person collection.

  • Can you help me find a specific instrument or bow?

Yes. Tell us what you’re looking for, and we’ll search through our network of dealers, collectors, and musicians to source it.
